Research:

During my stay at the Interdisciplinary Center for the History of Science and Technology, I will compare Book 1 of Euclid's Elements in several text versions of Arabic translations of the basic Greek work. The aim of the investigation is to determine whether there is indeed a remnant of an independent translation by Ishaq ibn Hunayn in the editorial office of Thabit ibn Qurra in this book, or whether the attribution to these two scholars from around the second half of the ninth century is a historical error and Book 1 also goes back to the work of al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf ibn Matar from the late eighth and first third of the new century.
